Thinking about useing Summit's truck helper leaf springs.

Did you notice a difference in the width of the helper compared to the original ones?

Do you remove the bottom one and replace it with the helper leaf?

Replace the U bolts with new ones?

I'm not buying new sets or having any re arching done.

    TIA

I think Dennis H put them on his R/T and liked what they did for his car.

I've read multiple times on here where someone installed them, with good results but no description on what was done.

527ECDA1-C629-4BF2-980E-7AAAAE2DF272.png Summit truck. Inserted one each side. All the same hardware used IIRC. inexpensive. Just over one inch gained. Perfect for my application.

So you used it in the spring pack without removing any of the original ones?

Any pictures? Do you have to remove the original clamps or replace them.

Separated leafs and inserted one each side. Safely. Jack stands etc.

It’s been a while. I think that the length of the inserted spring determined the best placement.
              IIRC.

If you ever get time take a picture of the spring and point to the placement of the one you installed I’m interested in doing this so mines won’t be jacked up thanks

Looks like the $35 ones from Summit are narrower than my springs that measure 2.5". Might have to go with the more expensive ones.

I used the 35 buck ones, and they were the same width as the original springs

I can’t find the order history from Summit, but the truck inserts were the same width as factory.
Only way to tell is to count them.
