Anyone work around a truck 8hp70 oil cooler?

Only have photos, haven't seen in person. Is the oil cooler really in the way requiring additional tunnel work?
Does anyone know if it can be remote mounted?

Huh, never saw one; but I bet not able to remote mount. What the heck is that vehicle? Kinda looks like an Allison trans.
 
It's the ZF designed but mopar built 8spd from a car and from a ram
 
Sure does look like it can be remote mounted.
 
My concern is a guy said it's part of the sealing assembly and plugs into the fluid ports and there's no fittings in the case.
 
Tap them! Problem solved.
 
You can get fittings for them and run an external cooler. Piece of cake, From what i understand they don't run that hot.
 
Apparently it's a temp stabilizer, it can heat and cool
