Are these real max wedge 3705 afb's?
They have no tags or stamped in serial number. I don't have choke mechanisms. I got these on a early 63 max many years ago, tried them as a single to see if they ran properly on a test motor, and had trouble with one (don't remember which),so I bought two new comp series carters. Edelbrock had not yet bought the rights to the Carter carbs.
These are NOT for sale, I'm just trying to see if they are worth a high doller restoration , carb spray and a kit, or put them back on the shelf.
According to the Greg Lane site, the throttle side linkage might be the giveaway

Not a lot of help, but it is my understanding that some 3705s carbs were not stamped. Mine are not stamped on the body, but do have the tags. I know they are real as I know the man who bought the car when new, thus know their history. Mine could be for sale, but I paid a lot for them as the car was nearly new when he blew it up racing a supercharged Hawk for top speed. He stuck a different motor in the MW and sold it.

Hard to tell from pics. Are the primary and secondaries the same diameter? 3705s have 1.686" primary and secondary bore and were 1964 only. 62/63 used the 3447s. Primary's are 1.437" and secondary are 1.686".

There were also several alternative AFBs for those motors/years...both simular to the 3705s. 9755 for the 64 max wedge and 3861s for the 64 Hemi...holleys replaced the 3861s.

The 3705s on my 64 330 were not stamped but did have tags.

I never had tags. They are both 1 11/16 bores, front and rear. My info says original max 3705s did not have numbers, replacement or over the counter carbs did have numbers stamped.
My engine should have 3447s but this is what was on it when I got it.

They most likey are 3705s. 3861s were original to the 64 hemi and may not have been stamped either...I'm not sure.

My info says the throttle arms are distinctive, but I couldn't post more than ten pics. Two shots of both throttle arms.

The throttle levers are correct for the MW/Race Hemi AFB's. Carbs could be MW 3705 or Hemi 3861, they are identical externally, only difference is the jets and metering rods.
