Attaching A/C Ducts?

Just Wondering How The A/C, Defrost Lines Attach To The Heater Box?

They Seem Like They Are The Same Size

The i.d. of the hose is a very snug fit on their matching locations of the box. There are small metal clips that slide on the round box fitting first, that hold the hoses. The original hoses are often very fragile.
