i recently picked up a 1966 Hemi Belvidere, 2. Low mileage original car. The front shocks are terrible. Thoughts on what to put on it? Car was used a personal fire fighters car the second owner added the spot light, removable, flashing light rear, flashing lights, and a siren. It’s all been documented. Original paint and interior 20,000 mile car.
Thanks

I contacted Bilstein for my 69 Coronet RT and they said they do not make shocks for our era of cars. They recommended sister company RCD (Race Car Dynamics) but front shocks were out of stock. Looks like QA1 has full line line of fixed and adjustable Mopar shock options.

Not true. I ran them on my 68 coronet. Call Peter at Bergman Auto 516.384.6438. He will find the right fit for you in Bilstein. Also sometimes, (such as my 74), you have to enlarge the hole on the LCA to get the front to fit. But not on my 68. The 68 was a direct bolt up.

Bilsteins on all four on my 69 Coronet R/T. Might have purchased them from back in the Hotchkis days. The best. I put them on the modern Mopars too.

I installed Bilsteins on the front of my 97 2500 diesel and it was the best move I ever made as for as shocks go....

I bought a set of Bilsteins for my Charger back in 2015 from PST. I'm sure there are plenty of other vendors that have them.

I think its just you and me on the Monroe bandwagon. They work just fine.
My Tukvan had Monroes. The Bilsteins were more money. I probably would be happy with Monroes, but I followed the advice of the spring shop guy. The Bilsteins will probably outlast me. Would be nice to do a side by side test.

Monroe's are probably fine. I will probably buy some for my pickup. But o.p. asked for "best" shocks.
Bilsteins are kinda expensive, but nothing like real racing shocks, and I'm sure op doesn't need a set of $1000-up shocks.

I changed out the torsion bars to 1.03's and kept the Monroes on the RR, it rides great now.

For the price competition engineering shocks are good even so they're 3 way adjustable shocks.
