Bought somthing to keep me busy until i find a RR/GTX

Wow!
Talk about impulsive!

Ha Ha!
Such a NEAT and RARE car!

GREAT FIND!

Going to AC the Car?

"..........I Like it......."

Again, nice car!

It has two 350's in it? :D Yeah, I'd get rid of that trans too and stick in an OD unit. I know GM makes some good late model OD slush boxes. I'm also with the group that are sick of seeing the Chevy engine being used in every type of car known to man. It's like doesn't anyone know how to NOT follow the heard!? It's like they don't have any imagination. If a guy is going to spend the bucks to build a hot rod, why not go the extra inch and do something different with the power plant? As far as cheap goes....how cheap would a 289 or a Ford 302 be? Don't know what they are going for now but several years ago they were like 318's. They were everywhere and dirt cheap if not free. Anyways, sorry to pee on your thread but I think the car is cool to the max. Hot rod the hot rod until the one of the 350's :D expire then drop something different in it :)

Already has it:
thanks all you well wishers!

36 ford 350/350 9 inch rear
New tinted glass with power windows
Vintage Air
All new mustang 11 leaf spring suspension
all steel body
sanderson headers
New interior/stereo
Dolphin Gauges
needs assebly/paint paint included
Already put driver fender on

Well i didn't build it, but probably would have used a kindergarden 350 anyway. LOL
I bought it to finish look like a deal not to pass up and most likely sell it.
will see. "Roadrunner"
The guy thought the fenders didn't fit, he said they were 2 inches short.
haha i hear jokes coming.
He also said the doors didn't shut, all it was is the wind lacein the way
He gave up two years ago on it spent a lot of cash over the yeas, piles of paper.
interior all done stereo, lets just hope its not a struggle the whole way never driven "more jokes"
Vintage Air, $7000 in suspension mustang 2 etc.. rear leaf blah blah blah.
all i know is it's less than 24 hrs and i think i did more than he did in 15 years. ok maybe 5
list so far:
throttle too tight adjust cable
adjust timing "back firing' solved
Door handles cut to length and installed
wind lace /doors to close adjust
PS lines were backwards steering going left and right by itself funny but fixed.
black tape all exposed colored wires under hood
reroute ignition wires and tie up
one fender, running board and Head light installed one to go!

some things left:
have to mount seats, have hardware
Needs full exhaust off headers back
change 80's wheels
wire tail lights and head lights

see pics
yes very very impulsive

Nice Hot Rod. If you can finish it on the cheap, you may make yourself enough of a profit to buy that 1970 RoadRunner you're coveting in #2 or better condition. Good luck.

Thanks that's the plan!!
Ok back to the Garage guys check in later 11:00 here in Tucson 85-90 Today

Me likey except the 350 part! I really don't get why every classic Ford has to get a Chevy motor... irritates the **** out me. Sorry for the short rant.

Congrats, that looks like a really fun project.

Easy... the most widely available engine on the planet probably... responds well to mods, huge aftermarket, and extremely affordable... I personally don't get it either - but its that way for a reason -

Sweet looking hot rod. Looks like it’d be fun to tool around in and easy to work on

Dadsbee you selling that hemi?
Nope, been carting that around since the day I found it... in 1978! Just needed to move it to get to the crate below it with my matching number A833 in it. All those crates are Mopar spares I've been moving place to place since I was 17... that was 39 years ago, but seems like yesterday! LOL

And BeeCool.. no I'm not a farmer, but I do have 2 backhoes!

Congrats on the new project...

finish it, sell it, by a decent rust free RR

I do like that 36 body style

-----------------------------------------------------------

IMO I'm sure many here know too
one of the biggest reasons for the SBC in all the cars
is bolt-in **** everywhere, can get anything & everything easily
everywhere
check out Speedway's site

------------------------------------------------------------

IMO the biggest issues I ran with the Ford power-plants
is the front sump pans on 99%, custom rear sump pan/pick-up
would cure most the clearance issues {SBC's are cheap}
the Ford's are narrow & fit easily, distributor up front too
also many SBF parts {mustangs etc.} are a dime a dozen too
not as cheap as the 1955-95-ish SBC, but parts are out there

most people: {not to generalize too much}
take the easiest sometimes cheapist path/route when doing a build like these
Johnny see, Jonny do, follower mentality somewhat too
That's not meant as an insult, just reality...

---------------------------------------------------------------

Back in the day you saw Buick Nail Heads & Caddy engines in early Ford

----------------------------------------------------------------

to each their own, build them how you want to

Don't need to be a farmer to own equipment I've had many over the years . I'm looking at a little skid steer now to move stuff around

if your going to turn it , leave the chevy . if its a keeper than hemi it . a little early dodge or chrysler would do .
