Ok I'm sure I'll get **** for it but the headlight switch on my 64 belvedere won't pull out only turns and it's gritty when it does turn. I assume the switch is bad as I'm getting no power to headlights because switch won't pull out at all. I've pulled pig tail and supplied 12v and got power for headlights at the bulkhead. Also I'm getting no power to fuse box only for the headlights all the rest of the fuses have power. I did bypass the the amp meter on back of dash so that's not the issue. Also can a bad headlight switch cause brake lights to not get power. I have power at pedal on both sides no switch is good

Definitely time for either rebuilding the headlight switch (I do those), or come up with a new old stock USA built one. There is no fuse for the headlights. There is a circuit breaker inside the switch.

If I remember correctly the brake lights pass through the brake switch and then through the turn signal switch.
With the key in the off position step on the brakes. With someone behind the car jiggle or move the turn signal lever and have them tell you what they see.

There is tail lamp fuse i believe but it has no power going to it. I can't seem to get the switch out. I got the knob pulled out by pushing the button but man it was tough to get out. I've got power from brake switch but if I check the connector by kick panel I don't have power going to the brake lights.
