Is this supposed to slip around the post at the top of the backing plate, or sit on top of it? This one sits on top of the Chrysler post and I'm wondering if the tool is too small.

Is this supposed to slip around the post at the top of the backing plate, or sit on top of it? This one sits on top of the Chrysler post and I'm wondering if the tool is too small.
It should just sit over the post enough to keep it from walking. The nub does all the work. If the spring is pulling it off the post open it up with a dremel.
