So I splurged and bought their exterior 5 layer car cover for the 70 Bee which is 210 inches long. $340 with discount. Yes its the lower end but Im not rich. 1st one came and it was for a 1970 RoadRunner which is 203 inches long.Called and they said it was the right one. Well I said no and they took it back. Well I just received the next one and it says 1965-1972 coronet. I guess one size fits all.5 layers I guess? Just wanted to give you guys and gals a heads up and maybe think twice before buying from them. This has been going on for 2 months. Some people said the love their covers but I will never buy again from them. David

I've never bought a cover from them, but I wonder if they're just a retail outlet for whomever actually manufactures their covers. Anybody ?

Actually sounds like prices have hiked quite a bit. Although I bought mine a few years back - fit like a glove on the X and was about $250 max. Yeah I’d be a bit on the peed off side too. There are other good companies but if you want a spend a bit CCC seems the most suggested. Maybe they’re falling into the shit pile with everyone else these last number of years.

For another 300 you could have bought the roofing material to finish closing in the carport. I remember when those carports were 500 bucks and closed on three sides for 700.

$340 sounds like - NOT cheap. Paid around $250 for mine - it fits though a bit tight and glad I installed a power antenna...no hole for it unless you poke one in. Cover I used for eons was basically a parachute and could cover a full size pick up with it.

Looks like it’s long enough. How does it fit from the roof down the front and back glass.
the seam for the back window is about 6 inches down from roof line

It sure looks like it covers the whole car to me, so what's the problem? You want it vacuum sealed, custom fitted, or what?
Your the best Jon, just was making the point that it is not custom just a one size fits all thats all my friend. Not impressed but not worth the hassle to send back a second time.

Just imagine how much it'd actually be if was truly custom made? If you look at inventory control and all that other business stuff, it makes sense to have them fit a few different years. Yea, it sucks, but what are you going to do?
Try finding a cover for a 66-300, I'd be happy if mine fit 1/2 as good as yours, which it doesn't!! JMO

Mine fits my 68 Bee pretty good and it failed after 2 1/2 years. I sent it back on my dime but they replaced it with a new one quickly after they checked to see if it could be fixed.

I just remove the antenna and put it on the dash when the cover is on. ;)

Lol, sometimes I think "custom" is a term used to increase customer interest and price! :)

Even on a cheapie cover I glue a reinforcement ring on the backside for the antennae hole I cut. Add another on top for looks if desired...

I just started this dance myself.

most of my cars have a weather shield HP cover on them. Those are truly custom and fit like a glove. They give you options for spoilers, different noses, etc. very nice covers and the water beads off of them like they are covered in oil.
The 72 RR is really never going to be outside and with the insane cost of those covers right now I opted for a 5 layer cover as well.
After digging around different websites for a few hours I concluded that everyone is selling the same 5-layer or 7-layer covers and putting there own sales pitch and name on them. I think one company makes them for the masses and they get rebranded like most moderately or low priced items these days.
I ordered from
http://www.carcoversfactory.com/

my cover is on the way now and I assume it will fit like MC hammer pants and will end it’s career in protecting my car in about the same way as MC Hammer’s if I leave it outside in the sun and rain too often.
I’ll let you guys know how it works out.
I just figured that for under $300 with current inflation that if I had a cover that was more than enough for an occasional day outside then good enough.
