Can I remove inserts behind B pillar?

I have a 73 Charger SE. I'm wanting to remove the insert that has the glass and fiberglass behind the B Pillar? Can I cut it out without removing the B pillar or drip rail and just replace the insert with glass? Trying to get out of welding in a new pillar or drip rail. See photo
