Plastic money is a bit misleading, IMO. I picture credit card style bills... What they're doing is switchings to polymer banknotes, which supposedly last longer, are waterproof and are less likely to tear.
Being Canadian, I don't really mind as long as they keep the bills visually similar.
We're also phasing in the new 'chipped' credit cards, which require a PIN number instead of a signature to be used, I don't know if that's happening in the US or not.

I wouldn't be stressed on it, its waaaay better than the paper notes. For starters they wash much better. Mind you one of the companies behind it go into a lot of trouble in Vietnam. seems they may have been encouraging them in a manner not strictly. Still beats paper
