I won't be around at all this weekend, so that gives me 4 days next week to get ready for the final race.
Lmao

You might have time, IF,you don’t sleep!

Make a list so you don’t forget something (like the plugs in the oil galleries, splash shield, converter installation, adding transmission fluid.)you know just the normal things good luck!

You're a motivated man! Keep us posted. Good luck!

Using the stuff from my GTX.
cam is hydraulic roller .584 I believe and 1.6 rockers.
Checking p/v clearance if I get home early enough today.
I just sat everything on the motor temporarily for the pic.
73 cast motor .
Pistons sit down good in the hole.
Hopefully it works

Welp, I quit yesterday but back at it again today.
Who knew throwing an engine together would be such a PITA!
I couldn't find a lifter to check p/v clearance so had to run to machine shop to borrow 1.
3 hour round trip.
Mocked everything up and found that I had the wrong pushrods. About an inch too long. Searched at home and then ran to my storage unit and couldn't find the correct ones.
That killed a couple more hours.
I went back and mocked up with my indy heads and had .095 on exhaust and didn't bother with intake because I decided not to run those heads on a beater motor.
Turned the motor over and started installing oil pickup and it snapped off .
That's when I quit.
Today I carefully removed broken off stubb.
Ordered new pickup, checking lifter, and pushrods from summit.
Game on again....
Tomorrow backup trans and converter is going in while waiting on parts.
Hopefully my headers will be ok with straight plugs on my stealth heads.
We'll see what happens.

Forgot to mention that I couldn't find my adjustable pushrod checker.
After an hour looking for that, I found it underneath the bottom drawer in the bottom of my toolbox.
