Well, after sitting for 4 months I went to start the 62 Belvedere, battery was dead and when I got it started after priming the carb it ran like crap. A few dead cylinders due to flooding so....I bought a gasket kit (Eddy 1405) and rebuilt it.

As much as people rave about efi, the simplicity and value of an Edelbrock carb is unmatched. Took it all down, cleaned all passages and put it back together with a $14 gasket set. I found the more expensive complete set is unneeded most of the time. Also purchased a new accelerator pump.

There was crud in the bowls and floats looked nasty. Cleaned up and bottom half back together.

Floats were way off so I adjusted them. There are also 2 inlet screens to clean.

Does my old heart good!!

The classic Carter AFB to me is the best.No matter who's name is on them now.

I always enjoy rebuilding those carbs, then firing it up and fine tuning them. I'm useing the 1405 and found the floats way out of adjustment also.

I noticed that your kit came with the blue accelerator pump just like my last one did. Mine didn't last for a couple of weeks and it became weak. Not a very strong shot at all. So I ordered the 1467 pump from Summit and it's held up fine the rest of the year. FYI

Funny you mentioned that. I wasn't getting a great squirt and a off idle surge. The blue pump is a different length than what I pulled out (red) even though it was sold specifically for the 1405. I had a spare red one that I dropped in, no more issues.
