Carb tag numbers

Digging around in my stash of take off parts I found a nice AFB carb I doubt has ever been apart.
The tag says 4327S and the carb body reads 43276 My question is why would the last digit be different from the tag and the body
Build date is L-6 which I assume is December 1966 if that means anything

67 GTX 440 automatic carb. Really it should be a S on the base also, but stranger things have happened.

I would consider that as stamped wrong. I think it is still a 4327 carburetor and the 6 was a mistake. Pictures would be nice.
