    Hi Members,

I would like to set up my exhaust system like factory correct and I need some help.

    Engine 440 HP

I know that the pipes are 2 1/4"
    http://www.accurateltd.com/H-Pipe-for-440-B-Body_p_158.html

For the mufflers there are hemi mufflers but i would like to have the original look with a little bit more "noise". Any ideas?

    For the muffler hangers:

    Tail pipes:

    For the tip hangers:

    For the tips:

The bigges question is for the clamps.

are the Q clamps or the U clamps correct for a original apperance?

So I would like to hear your opinion about my set up and what kind of clamps are correct.

    Thanks for your help guys!

Purchased my exhaust system for my '68 Charger from Accurate Exhaust pretty much as you described. It fit perfectly and sounds awesome.
I installed it myself without a vehicle lift.
Call and talk the them. Great folks to deal with.

      Accurate is just that. Accurate.

Are you building a show car? If not I’d go with TTI. Mandrel bent, better performance, less money.

      I have both.

Yes I would like to build a show car, otherwise I would go with a TTI system. Thats why I´m asking if anybody can help me with the mufflers and clamps.

Good to know that Accurate looks accurate :D

I put Gardner’s on the 67. Very nice, for the price it better be.

You still need the ECS mufflers if you want date codes though.

In regards to your question on the correct style of clamps, I have never seen Q clamps used on a B-Body before the 1970 model year. The 1969 and earlier model years to my belief all used the saddle clamp.

I do not know the transition date between the saddle clamp to the Q clamp and cars retaining the original exhaust can be difficult to find and document.

I just looked at Gardner´s, maybe I will give Accurate and Gardners a call. Still looking around. ECS was also on my list.

I looked at the parts Catalog but I can´t find anything on google with the original part number. Just checked the service manual and found a couple of pictures and all of them are showing the saddle clamps, so I will go with them.

            Thanks guys

Call Ruth at Waldrons in Michigan. Like Tom at Accurate, they can build very nice things to fit that car and they will sound good too.
