Climate change?

I believe that the wooden thermometers from a thousand years ago were a bit less accurate.
Possibly.

But ice cores and archaeological evidence are pretty darned accurate.

Yeah, its their cooking fire, not that big gas-guzzling SUV you drive around !!
More like their unregulated industries that rape the earth for heavy minerals; their unregulated coal plants belching un-clean smoke into the atmosphere; and all the other things they do that make zero effort to keep those things as "clean" as possible. We, on the other hand, already do things cleaner than the Paris Accord "demands"...but our beauracrats are still trying to stifle our economy (by killing the Keystone pipeline, by over-regulating things like coal and fracking, and as a result driving all our expenses sky-high).

But yeah...it's probably the campfires.

Only someone with real mental deficiency will be arguing that we humans can't and don't effect our environment...

Only someone with a mental deficiency will argue that the earth hasn't learned how to self-regulate itself.

The "party line" is that HUMANS ARE KILLING THE PLANET BY MAKING IT TOO HOT.

Bullshit.

The PLANET has been hotter than this, multiple times in recorded history. Physical evidence proves that - ice cores, archaeological digs, and actual data - not "wooden thermometers from hundreds of years ago". PEOPLE, didn't cause these temperature changes. That big yellow heat and radation source in the sky, did.

and only someone with a real mental deficiency won't look behind the curtain at the bullshit they are selling you.

and how about the layers in rock?, i pretty sure climate change has been around for a very long time. The evidence is written in stone

The earth has had polar ice caps only 4 times in 13 billion years. Noah's ark didn't land on an iceberg. And the initial post by the OP is so fundamentally dumb. Like, there's never been hurricanes or tornadoes before... we started them damn things !

Humans are mere pimples on the earths' ***.
To think we humans have any effect (meaning: control) over something so incredibly massive and
complex as a planet is, quite frankly, obnoxiously arrogant of us.
"We" simply don't.

The op has a dually diesel that pulls a race trailer and preaches about climate change. Conversation over.

I would have to agree with the OP, kinda. Since the creation of earth it has been in a constant state of evolution and change. The plates in the earth's crust are moving all the time. Man will never be able to keep earth "as it is". We should all do our part to keep it clean, who wants to fish in dirty streams or hunt in trash filled fields. Earth is a living thing like all things that are alive it ages, changes, and evolves to something different. It won't be here forever it will have its own end of life. So yes more evidence of climate change is coming. It happens daily and has for billions of years.

LOL...I wasn't talking about you specifically yet here you are providing an excellent example...

You deny humans effect the environment around them...

That's special...

Ever see smog?

Ever read about DDT?

Ever live where they tell you not to eat the local seafood cause of all the sewage in the water?

Ever read about a species we humans caused the extinction of?

These are effects dude...

If there's ONE thing in life you should have confidence in is the ability of humans to **** stuff up...

COMMUNIST DEGROWTHERS!!
It's all about their efforts to destroy capitalism, in our Constitutional Republic, the one system that gives the greatest number of people regardless of background an opportunity to rise!

Point is...
It'll still be spinning, going around the sun, doing its' thing long after we've left the joint....
and nothing, absolutely nothing, any human does will stop that.

Threads like this are created to goat members to argue, plain and simple, we all know how this is going to end up and it's by design BTW. I'm sure that is exactly what the op had in mind when he started it.

THat's enough of that. This was a good discussion until this stuff enters into the conversation. Take it to the N&P.

Probably the thing that IMO is most irritating on this topic is all of the DIY experts who state their opinions somehow as indisputable facts. Who daa F really knows what’s going on with the global climate? How does anyone know what’s evolutionary with the rock we live on or what contribution humankind has or hasn’t had on it? I won’t be convinced by some who read in their spare time and formulate their ‘views’ from the internet, or God forbid, social-skank media. I’ll admit I don’t know enough about it, as I don’t make a living studying this or have relevant degrees…to state lofty ‘facts’ about it.
Far as I’m concerned nobody knows jack **** about it.

When one considers that accurate measuring equipment only existed for about the last century or so, it's really
not fair to extrapolate what the history of such a thing as "climate" was for thousands of years prior, is it?

To paraphrase the late George Carlin,
"The earth is going to shake us off like a bad case of fleas."

Isn't jack Schitt the son of Awe Schitt?

I did nothing of the sort.

My statement was that we are not "the" reason this is happening. The Earth has been hotter before mankind was around (it was significantly hotter in dinosaur times). The earth has been hotter before the industrial revolution (the Roman Warm Period).

While we MAY be contributing...we are not THE cause. Even if we were THE cause, we still haven't made the earth as warm as it has been before we even existed.

This, is not an issue "for the planet".

If we were making it warmer than it has ever been....maybe. But, we aren't. So, it isn't.
