The past two nights the coyotes have been barking up a storm. It drives the dogs in the area nuts.

They are training their litter. The pups usually yip and bark when mom or dad come home to signal them to throw up any food they have eaten. The male will then give a sharp bark and they will all shut up.

usually, go off yip & howl, like crazy right after the kill

we have them here behind us every fall & spring

eating fawns & turkeys here mostly

seen quite a few bigger ones too, probably Coydogs hybrids
just look like a much bigger Coyote

I went out behind our fence line & pissed everywhere I could
they take a wide birth back from our fenceline area
(been known to pee in a 2-litre bottle to spread it around even more too)

I marked my territory too, it actually works
been doing it for decades

we had only one adult pair coming back, for a couple of years
usually the alfa & omega are too territorial
to let others/outsider in their territory
we have like 3 breeding pairs now, lots of subadults now too
lots of pups to feed

it's really time to thin the herd,
too many houses in the distance
or I'd shot them on sight
(my neighbor is a Cal. Fish & Game Warden Lt., he's well aware of them too)

my dog goes off when he sees or hears them,
most domestic animals will
often at night, I hear them making a kill, eery sounds

I have a buddy in the Fish & Game
he says to take a dump & pee in or near their dens
& they will leave/move the dens
(make damn sure they are gone)
I found one den & pissed all over the entrance
seemed to work for a while

they've been known to kill most the neighborhood cats
that roam the open acreage behind us

My dad lives in a rural area on the boarder of Nevada and California. He has a small house on an acre, surrounded by a 5’ chain link fence, behind which he has a line of pine trees , also bordering the property for privacy.

One evening, while watering the trees, out between 2 pines pops this Coyote, mid air, and high speed, having just jumped the fence. About 10 feet from my dad, so very close. Clenched in its teeth, the Coyote had a wiener dog. My dad stood frozen as the coyote strode to the back fence and jumped the back line fence with ease while continuing to cross the desert.

At that moment my dad realized he had dropped the garden hose and it had filled his shoes.

Hmmm - hearing more stories about coyotes! Buddy who lives in a subdivision said one killed a fawn in the street one night leaving a hell of a mess. Pop must be growing. I live in the country with not much near me and haven't seen any but got a lot of deer and cranes running around...come to think of it, haven't seen the wild turkey family wandering around the past week. They were around everyday...

I have to be honest about the ones around here. I have heard diddly squat from them since about the 15th of March, I have to wonder if they all went into quarantine the same time humans did?

Could be because more Road Runners are out this time of year.

Sounds like a money maker. You could put it in spray bottle and sell it.

I have a buddy that bought Cougar piss off the -www-
don't know from who

it supposedly works too

stinks like all hell

supposedly keep deers away from his wife's plants too

I wouldn’t want to be the guy that makes the cougar pee in the bottle.

I get them here also I shoot them or send a whistling bottle rocket over them. Both work the same. U would go to jail with either if I lived in CA!

I'm fairly rural and my backyard boarders a far field. I've seen one or two, but it is not uncommon to hear one pack howling to another in the next field or hear one pack go crazy in the field behind me when they make a kill.

I love to listen to them. They also keep the population of egg suckers down and that’s good for the pheasant population. We are over run with wild turkeys so I hope the coyotes are having turkey buffet, it wouldn’t hurt to take the deer population down a notch either.

Just listened to 5 minutes of the Coyotes

Large population on a Historic Farm I manage. 18 trapped so far this year...

That will work with most places... Just ask the people who live or have business's in San Francisco, Los Angeles etc...
