Does anyone now if you can get custom backspacing for American Racing Torq Thrust D? In particular, I'm looking for 15"x10" with 5.75" backspace.

    thank you

You might end up with a 5.5 BS and .25 inch spacer.

You can try Google Search "Stockton Wheel" here in Calif., they will do all most any backspace & diameter wheel rim combo you want, they can remove the hoops/outer rims & install new if necessary, if that's the centers you like, they may even have those centers possibly... call them they are in the phone book & on the web...

thank you Budnicks. I used Stockton for steel wheels in the past, but did not think to use them for one piece aluminum.

If you do that, wouldn't you end up with 5 1/4 back space?

Don't know how they are these days, but several years ago a buddy used them and it took 3 times and they were still not right and had to use 3/8" spacers. The first time was way off, the second time they came back with Ford centers and the 3rd, we just made spacers and gave up.

for my application I agree with Cranky. Spacers will move the tire closer to the fender (which I'm trying to avoid).

If my old memory serves me right,a 5.5 B/S is one of the standard. You calculated 5.75.So if the tire is too close to the inside,a spacer can be used.If you need LESS B/S,you need different rims.I use 2 different size spacers for my street meats for the fit I need.

I thought increasing the back space moves the inner wheel rim closer to the spring or frame?

To measure the B/S on a rim,set it face down and lay a flat bar accross the rim. Then take your measuring device and measure from the mounting surface to the flatbar. That's the backspace:grin:

Yup. Wheel back space doesn't change but if you want less to the inside, add a spacer. No?

I think 3.75" is the standard BS for the 15 x 10 Torq Thrust Ds. That's what is currently on my 65 Belvedere. Springs have been moved in 3" and an a-body width diff is in the car.

    Wheel BS

    Hi 65 Ply-

65 hemi is right they come 3.75"... but you can pretty much get what you want (within reason no less than
3.75"). I just ordered a set from Jegs 15 X 10 w/4.5" BS.. additional $60 ea wheel for the custom BS. They also want 6 weeks manufacturing time (I think it will be closer to 8 with holidays). Just got an email from them, will not have my fronts 15 X 4.5's until 1-17-12. Oh well... I will have them for next year.

    Good Luck-
    Glen
