Today I went and pulled the dash pad out of my donor car. It is in perfect condition and I would like to keep it that way. Does anybody have any recommendations to treat the pad to keep it from cracking? I would like to treat it while it is out of the car and hopefully rejuvenate it as much as is possible prior to installation. Thanks for any suggestions in advance

Buy a vinyl cap for it to keep the sun from killing it. Might not be the look
you want, but it will save your nice pad! How's about a dash pad topper?
Keep the sun away and you'll be O.K.

I understand the idea of protecting the pad but I was hoping to have input on some way of rejuvenating to pad somewhat

The problem with anything topical is that it will not penetrate the old vinyl. You can use SEM color coat and give it a freshen up with color. That will make it look new, but now, nothing out there penetrates and revitalizes that old brittle vinyl.

Unless you accidentally put too much pressure on it or bump it with something. My perfect original dash pad got cracked by my headliner installer.

I just bought a almost perfect rally glove box door from AZ. It was hard and dry when I got it. I put several applications of "303" on it and it did soften it up.

A vinyl cap is good but fitment insnt the exact best, plus if and when he puts it on, if you were to take the pad off the original material is mostlikely going to crack or come off from the adheasive. For someone that doesnt really care I would do it. but from what the post owner is saying he wants to go for an original look.
