Hello all! long time mopar restoration mechanic doing first gen3 hemi swap and looking for some pointers, appreciate any help in advance, have seen a lot of good info on this site so far im glad I joined. I have lots of experience with these old mopars just have never done a gen3 hemi swap. Have been pretty fortunate working in a shop since i was young doing solely mopar restoration and street builds, not many race cars though.
Car Im restoring currently that the hemi will go in is 68 Gtx gold on gold 440 car that im doin as a driver for myself, car has a cool history was dragged to alaska from colorado twice and back was registered both times so came with two sets of the old alaskan plates. Have a few other cool B and E bodies that I have restored and some other projects but have had this particular car since 2001 and have finally collected everything NOS i have needed and just came across an 06 5.7 hemi truck motor and have decided nows the time to start the build and this is much more practitcal in my opinion than putting a built 440 in and actually thinking im going to drive it much. Will be doing my own bodywork but only needs lower quarters, maybe paint and full assembly on my own, know how to do most of it but this hemi swap so will be asking questions pretty often until I finish, but have a lot to contribute too.
Anyways looking forward to meeting some new mopar friends on here and thanks for the read! Mopar or No Car!!
