I ran across that video on YouTube the other day.
Lucky that car didn’t blow up, first generation Mustangs use the gas tank as a trunk floor and more than a few Mustang drivers have got burned up in rear end collisions!
It gets scary driving our vintage cars knowing that all it takes is just one distracted or reckless driver to destroy our pride and joy.
I can’t imagine riding a motorcycle now, it’s like a game of Russian roulette, spin the chamber and hope this isn’t the day I get shot down and left a broken mess on the pavement because of some idiot distracted by their phone or infotainment system or stoned.

Yes ouch - not good getting rear ended in one of those Fords where the gas tank is the trunk floor.

Scares me too. Just because the other person has insurance doesn't mean that it's O.K!
Cell phones while driving should be a Felony, or treated the same as D.U.I.

I cannot stand to have someone using a cell phone while they are driving.....be it in the car next to me or while I'm with someone that's driving. There have been times where I've told the driver to either put the phone down or pull over and let me out. There have been times where I've moved over in front of someone that was on their phone and gradually started slowing down....so they can see this....and to make them less dangerous. But on the freeway, I do what I can to get away from them.

I was behind a clown blocking the passing lane doing about 35 in a 55. I got in front of her and just decelerated until we were doing about 20. It was some black woman looking at her ******* phone.

I saw a woman in a store parking lot talking on her phone and trying to park at the same time. Her window was open and I said what's on your sticker. She got all bent out of shape...too bad.

I've been in a few car accidents in my life and my thoughts are this. If you hit me and it was an accident, all I want is for everything to be as it was one second before it happened and we're even. If you're eating, talking on the phone and checking the back seat for your kids while smoking, your *** is mine, period!! That's what picnic tables at the park are for, not cars.

I would bet that the Mustang driver will never get the full value of his car. Insurance is a service you pay full price for but rarely receive the full value of what you paid for. I am fighting that with an adjuster now. I have replacement roof insurance and he wants to pro rate it.

They are not there for you, they are not a good friend, and there hands are not good.. Only honest thing I have ever seen come from the Morgan and Morgan commercials ( a HILLY supporter)....

Depends on what kind of insurance the kid had. If he had Agreed Value with a collector car insurance company than he’s probably already got a check in his hand from them for exactly what he had the car insured for.
If he had regular car insurance with stated value,or no collision and is waiting for the dingbat woman’s insurance company to pay him what he thinks the car is worth, then yeah, he’s probably got more headaches coming from fighting with them than just the one he got in the crash.
IMHO he’d have been a lot better off if he’d had the EMTs transport him to the ER. Whiplash anyone?

I understand the agreed value insurance, but why should his insurance have to cover it?

More on the phone than not in these parts. Prius in the inside dual left almost got me yesterday. Drifted wide almost to the curb.

That’s how it usually works. Why waste your energy fighting with the other driver’s insurance after they hit you, make the claim with your insurance and let them duke it out.
You’re out your deductible until the insurance companies finish their dance, but if you aren’t at all at fault, and the driver at fault is insured you’ll get it back eventually.
I do not believe it makes any difference on your rates if you aren’t at fault.
