it was tough to do with the shaft still in the car
my 70 convertible is a 440 ,727 , 8 3/4 . Drive shaft is 52 inches from the front of the front ujoint cap to rear of the rear ujoint cap. Hope that helps we may be off a few 8ths ?
I measured from c/l of the front u-joint cap to the c/l of the rear u-joint cap and came up w/ 51.5" w/ the yoke pulled back 1" after pushing it all the way in the tailshaft of the trans. Does this mean that a 51" shaft would work?
