Quick question, what's everyone's thoughts or experiences with adding a outside side mirror to the passenger side? Seems like a good idea for true street driving and safety.

I've never seen a 64 with dual mirrors! But it's your car do what fits your needs! An original dual post mirror will work for that!

I have been thinking of doing the same with my 64 Fury. I have a nice original mirror to match the driver side. But I would want to measure the mounting holes to make sure the mirrors matched on both sides. However, I would first have someone hold it in position. if the vent window frame obstructs the view, it may be necessary to move the passenger side one a bit. (I have not actually tried this yet, but I do tend to worry about details.) And, for what it's worth, I have convex spot mirrors on the passenger sides of all my daily drivers to make lane changes easier and safer. I would probably put a 3 or 4 inch stick on spot mirror on the passenger mirror when I install it...
Also, I don't think these are just put on with sheet metal screws. Pretty sure there is a reinforcement to be put inside the door as well.

Dual mirrors look good but the right one is pretty decorative and not too functional. I put one on my 66 Dart and it helps a little to see what's behind you on that side.

I have dual mirrors on my '65, and the passenger mirror is worthless in the factory location. in addition it is not a very big mirror to actually see much. My car had both mirrors from the factory and I like the look, that's why I kept them both. my 2 cents...

Exactly. I would like to try a stick on spot mirror just to see if it works better.

I put one on my 65 coronet because I personally like them on both sides and they are worthless unless you buy a "Eyeball" Mirror the same size as the side mirror. It helps backing in my garage, but, factory location sucks for serous use.
