Has anyone put an E Body 8.75 rear diff under a 71-74 B Body. I have this part avilable to me and I know the spring mounts on the E Body diff will have to be relocated. The other difference will be the width - I think the E body rear axle assembly is about 1.5 inches less width (overall side to side length). Curoius if anyone already did this and what was the good and the bad.

Thanks

yes, i have done it. you have to relocate the spring perches towards the backing plates .75" on both sides. remember to try and keep your OE pinion angle.

it is not good or bad. it will be good if you had the correct offset rims to fill in the space you opened up, but it will not be truly beneficial unless you do something in relation to that.
