Greetings, getting ready to install the above mentioned equipment on a 440, going into a 1962 Polara. QUESTION: Will the factory OEM throttle cable FIT this set up? The directions mention about factory cables being too short etc. and recommend using a 6 CYL. throttle cable because it's longer. I have the factory 1962 big block throttle cable with the "round" fitting at the firewall and a clevis on BOTH ends, one for the carb hook up and one for my gas pedal. I looked at the other cables available and they do NOT have a clevis for my gas pedal unless I missed something. I would greatly appreciate any feedback on this since I don't want to install the new 440 and find out I can't correctly operate the gas pedal & carbs without a proper cable. Bouchillon offers longer cables but NO clevis for the gas pedal. Sorry for going "deep" but this is the best way I can explain it. The pics below show the CLEVIS on the accelerator pedal side.

I don't remember seeing a Mopar cable with a clevis on both ends; however, these Lokar replacement cables in various lengths would be super easy to adapt. There are lesser quality cables for cheaper on Amazon and Ebay. Click on below link.

if i understand the question correctly you're wanting to use a factory throttle cable for a ch28 and edelbrock carbs. i use a factory 318 cable with the edelbrock manifold/carbs/throttle bracket. i did do some mods to the factory cable bracket for adjustability. no rocket science.

I did this not using cables. I like factory type stuff. I guess pick your poision.

a ch28 using the factory throttle cable needs to be a shorter one. the cable i have is off a 318 '64 plymouth and it might be considered a little long. that's why i made some adjustability in the cable bracket. i'm certain slant six and max wedge would be too long. the 318 cable is barely long enough for a 6pak.

I am pretty sure that I used my stock Big Block cable when put 2 X 4's on my convertible. These are stock 1962 300H AFB's. The cable mounts to the rear carb, which is closer to the firewall than the stock single AFB. I did have to modify the stock cable mount bracket to mount on the rear intake manifold bolt. Afterward, I noticed that Classic Industries sells a repro of the factory piece. I had to shorten my kickdown rod for the automatic.

THANKS very much. That motor looks awesome!

I also used repro 1966-'67 fuel lines, that gave me 2 fuel filters. I first tried running it with just one filter after the pump, like a stock 4-barrel, but felt it was not getting enough fuel.
