Have you performed this upgrade?
I'd heard from others that it is a direct swap. They said get a latch/switch from a mid to late 80s 5th Ave/Gran Fury/Diplomat. I found an 84 5th ave in a wrecking yard and got one. First off, the body of the electric unit is slightly larger and interfered with the recess in the trunklid. Simple fix though. I ground off metal a little at a time until it fit without interference. The unit is self grounding, so all that is needed to power it is a wire to a switch along with a wire from the switch to any BATT + terminal. I'm going to put the switch inside the console.
The latch mechanism is used in many other Mopars dating into the late 90s. I might start buying these to sell at swap meets!

I did it... but personally preffer to take a keyed source
