had some electrical issues last sunday. 68 charger. Car was running for about 15 min. Went to shut it off. Starter kept running destroying positive cable at the battery. Replaced starter and still happened. Replaced starter relay. Now my cab and dash lights flicker, tach bounces. Cant be sure that this was not evident prior to issu with starter. This has a new dash harness. Thinking maybe ignition switch. Any and all help appreciated.
I cant get to point to replicate. But now my cab lights are flickering and tach bounces. Electrical guy said that he had re pinned wiring on ignition switch plug. I am going to check that and compare to images i have found. I.E. I am not an electrical person.

I need to get this straight. You started the car and it was running properly for 15 minutes. You shut it off and the starter engaged at that time and kept running? It appeared to be corrected with a new starter relay and has not happened since? Keep in mind that as you were doing your inspections, you were moving/disturbing wires and could have removed a short on the yellow start wire while doing so but that's only one of the many possibilities.
This "re-pinning" of the connector is suspect so your approach to compare it is appropriate.

Now the lights. Have you checked all lights? I would imagine they also flicker. Is the flicker more noticeable at idle but appears to be less at higher RPM's? Get an analog voltmeter (most digital meters are too slow to react) and check the voltage while the car is running and the lights are on. See if the needle is steady or or moves in the same manner as the lights do.
My gut says that you either had a short to battery on the starter lead to the relay or you had a defective starter relay. The subsequent damage to the battery cable may have also damaged something in your charging system but further testing is required to know for sure.

Ignition switch wiring checked out to be correct. When turning key to on position before starting i am getting intermittent power to my dash. I hear clicking going on in dash and tach jumps lights flicker. Trying to get past this before i try to start car agian. Thank you in advance.

So the lights flicker with just the ignition switch in the "on" position and without the car running? If that's so, all I can think of there is an extremely loose power or ground connection. Is your dimmer switch working properly? I guess the next thing would be to identify the source of the clicking noise.
