My wire harness from my electronic ignition box did not have connectors on the two wires going to the distributor but the distributor did. Does it matter which way they hook up?

All the diagrams I find just show the two wires going to the distributor with no dissemination on a specific orientation.

Which electronic ignition box did you purchase?

There should be an odd shaped connector that goes to the ignition box. It should have a pigtail for the distributor with the plug for it built in.

Here is an example of how its wired.

Yes it matters. I found out the hard way that on Mopar ign boxes it wont run if hooked up backwards. But on an aftermarket the car would run with the pick-up wires backwards. It will also change the timing if it runs hooked up wrong. I will try to find a pic of the colors the right way. Ron

See if this helps. Ron
