I finally pulled the 505 out of the corner to get started on the rebuild. I originally painted it blue using the Dupli Color spray cans of Chrylser blue. That is crap paint. I am changing the color to Hemi Orange now, so the block has to be completely stripped of all the blue. I am using Aircraft Remover and man that stuff stinks! Smells heavily of ammonia. Burns your nose hairs. But it works very well.

UTG has a video using Rustoleum Omaha Orange. That stuff it not available anywhere. Not even listed on Rustoleum website anymore.

I have a pint of KBS Street Hemi Orange coming along with the recommended KBS prep and primer. Anyone use this before?

No.
I painted my 440-495 with single stage acrylic enamel in GoManGo orange.
Self etch primer.
Regular primer.
Paint.

There is probably more threads on engine paint color on this forum than anything else. Lots of different opinions on what is the best or most authentic etc... You should get some feedback.

I was told that Omaha Orange is the same as the race hemi orange, much yellower that the typical street hemi orange (quite a bit of red).

Done with the paint job. I think it cam out pretty good. I used the KBS cleaner, then the paint prep which is really an oxide coating, then brushed on the finish coat.
