I would look into taking the tailpipe over the rear, and then side exit behind the rear tires. Gotta go between frame and spring? Been done!
But I agree with 6pkrtse, it's probably not your tailpipes causing the problem. It's probably a garbage in-tank pump. I DESPISE in-tank pumps, and no car of mine will have any system on it (aftermarket) that requires an in-tank pump.
(I threw away a nice car when the third in-tank pump failed, and I have a ccamaro Z28 that needs one too. Step one, according to the books? Remove entire independent rear end for tank access. F#@k that!
Also agree on sidepipe sound. I have a fenderwell headers car,, mufflers exit in front of the rear tires. It's quiet, but i still don't like the sound.
