When a modern rotary style Sanden type compressor is used they come with a pulley for 13A width belts, whereas, the originals were 11A (sorry for the metric sizes over here in Aus - 11A I think is 7/16”, 13A is 1/2”). How have people got around this, with alternator and crankshaft pulleys still sized for 11A belts?

They’ll work just fine, especially if it is s double v groove pulley.

Sorry, only just saw the reply.
So, are we saying that the original width belts (11A) will work OK?
It is double V groove pulley, but with the revised layout only one groove can be used.

as long as it does not bottom out in groove

Agree. Hence the question.
Has this been an issue for others that have gone down the path of Sanden type compressors?
What size / brand belts did you use?
