Hey gang. US car tool has a complete kit for fasteners for an E body car. Mine is a 71 B-body. Aren't the fastenerz for fender, valencs, efc, etc, basically the same? Their kit is for like $100 but my questiin is, aren't they the same? Thought the body styles fasteners are the same. At least from memory from MCCR web site

If not, does anyone know if there is a complete set for fenders, tront and rear valence, and basically everything

Thanks

This is the kit. MCRR (?) has a fastener book for E bodies, etc to tell you where certain fasteners went. When I asked them if they had a book for B bodies, they told me the same fasteners were used for B bodies. I like this kit and would order it but want to make sure it can be used for B bodies. If not this kit, does anyone know if there is a kit like the one above, only for B?

Also, would like new fasteners for both the front and rear valences. FYI-this for a 71 B body.

Thanks!

MMC Detroit has the most comprehensive fastener references I've seen ( http://www.mmcdetroit.com/Market_Place/ ) but they only list B bodies up to 1970. A lot of the fasteners will interchange but the finish, nuts, washers, markings, etc may not be correct. A lot of depends on if you are just trying to put the car together or if you are going for a more "OE Correct" style restoration.

I would try someone like Dave @ Roseville ( http://www.rosevillemoparts.com ) and see what kits are out there and what exactly they include, he'll probably know.
