You've got some work ahead of you there Andy, keep the progress pics comming.
During the course of the project you'll encounter alot worse than that paper cut :icon_axe:so keep the bandages close by.

Oh I know :). I put a drill into my hand two years when the bit snapped, while making a bracket for some lights on my truck.

That cut was from the peeling chrome on the rear bumper - sharper than one would think.

take it apart and have it blasted.

Floor pans will let you know how bad it really is.

From the pics it does not look too bad so far.
Rear quarters definately need some work.

Start bagging and tagging.
Just takes time and money.

Looks like a good project from here.

Thanks all. That hitch is going away but it's been drilled into the bumper :( , at least it was bolted to the frame properly.

Car was built April 14, 1971 at the Lynch Road plant. 318 2Bbl V8, 3 speed auto.

My next fun thing is to pull what I can off the broadcast sheet:

Cool car!!!It,ll be a real beast when it done...Bag and tag all your parts so when you are ready to put it back together you,ll know whats what...Always lots of parts for sale here..I,m not sure how far or lets say how much money you got to spend on the resto..I did it cheap as possible...I,m just a low paid state worker..Still took me 3 years...Lots of luck!!!

Lynch Road-built cars have the most vague fender tags , and have mystery numbers across the top-lines ; still don't know wtf that extra tag is with just a "P" stamped on it
( my '72 Coronet has that same tag ... maybe it's from the "P(aint)" booth ?? ) .

I also recognise a factory AM-FM radio ; perhaps it was dealer-installed ? That was a fairly common practise in those days ( especially with 1970 - 1971 "A" bodies , which -- for some odd reason -- didn't have an FM option ) .

Are you certain that "GY4" = Citron Yella pin striping ? Citron Yella / Curious Yellow
( 1971-only colour ) was "GY3" ; I believe that GY4 = light gold .

what does Citron yella look like? the stripe is a light yellow (now anyways) of sort.

Wow, Load it up, send it to me stripped of all parts, and ready for Media Blasting. North East cars love to make their way to TX, I liberate old crappy steel from salty roads!

If I could give you some advice, painting over that rust will not fix, or stop the rust -- I know you know that, just hate to see good money thrown away on bad things, everything is fixable, so, are you ready? If I can be of any assistance, let me know! Questions and time in this forum are free!
