When I had my 440 motor rebuild the water pump put on was with the exit on the drivers side. I have got everything to fit except the AC compressor, it hits the water pump thermostat housing. Anyone have a solution for this? I would like to keep the AC if I can. I am wondering if the brackets from another year would fit...
Let me know and as always, thanks for the help.

I had this same issue when I installed my new 440 Source aluminum pump housing-- no way was the original A/C compressor going to fit.
Having A/C is a top priority for me so I decided to bite the bullet and install a new Sanden style compressor.

Maybe someone makes brackets to adapt the original style A/C compressor to this style of water pump housing but I don't know of any-- only other solution that I know of-reinstall the cast iron water pump housing :BangHead:

You will need some 72 earlier brackets for the compressor and likley PS pump too with that housing. I recommend upgrading to the Sanden as above if you plan on running it.

I can't say I ever saw a car with the water pump hosing inlet on the left side. Only on large truck chassis that I saw them.

Thanks, I think this is what I will do. Can you share where you got your upgrade parts?

1973 and up big blocks had the lower hose on the passenger side, the power steering bracket is also different.
