Flowmaster Muffler needed part 42543 in SILVER

Where can I find a Flowmaster muffler part 42543 in silver. Everything out there is black. I contacted Flowmaster and said if us car guys are spending money on stainless or aluminized systems why would we want a black muffler. What is their reasoning? He did not know.

They make a 42543-FM in silver but I believe it is junk at 1/2 price. A 90 day warranty vs 3 year on the $100 muffler. Anyone know who may have old stock ?

good question but I am tired spending money and not getting what I want. Now I would need to sand the black, prime and paint with high temperature paint - more money and my time. I am still waiting after 2 wrong shipments from Mancini to get the correct sending unit. It is getting very difficult to find vendors who have the correct parts for these cars especially if you want to keep them OEM or close to it.

Scuff them with a red Scotchbrite, wipe with wax and grease remover and hit them with some silver VHT.

Thanks all for feedback, believe it or not I found an old set of gray on Ebay. They were returned by previous customer and I asked to see pics to see if they were in like new condition. The vendor said they just spray painted them black. What ?!?!?!?!?!

If I buy the black I will buy local because the quality of how they are made is lacking and if they look bad out of the box then I dont take them. Not paying good money for junk anymore.

I had to replace one side with a black one..... until I roll my car or pull a big wheelie I'm the only one who knows its black, don't tell anybody!! lol
