Cold engine. Check
No water. Check
8500. No problem

Long time ago, I bought a brand new motorcycle. The engine has rpm break in restrictions from the mfr. One day someone asked me why I was so gentle on the throttle. I explained why. He said, "oh, man, let me break it in. I'll take it out here on the service road and break it in right! Like how you're supposed to drive it". No, thanks, I'm not going to drive it like an insane moron.

Some people know better, some don't.
