Just wondering what oddities have appeared in the nooks and crannies of your cars during your restorations. My Coronet has produced a few - a dead mouse inside the console; original trunk key fell out when cutting away the rusty lower passenger quarter.

I already posted the oddball seemingly assembly line control build sheets I found that no one can explain or has ever seen before.

I found a pistol once .
$300 in a different car had a money clip on it .

And most every car beer cans everywhere
Some tools too

I found a refrigerator magnet stuck inside the lower dash lip in the GTX. It was shaped like a little
stop sign (octagonal) and I had to do some research to figure out what the slogan on it meant....
turns out, it was from Overeaters Anonymous.
Quite apropo for a big block, I thought.... :)

I found a small steel box with a sliding lid and a magnetic base stuck underneath the front chassis rail near the battery in my GTX. The previous owner (Dave) was a drunk, and was always getting the keys taken from him by the Police...back in the days when they did that sort of thing. He would just wait for the Cops to go away then return and retrieve his 'hidden' spare key, then drive the GTX home.

Dave was also the previous owner of my '69 Charger, before I bought the GTX. When he had it all painted up like a General Lee (back in 1981 or so), he would often get strange looks by the local Police - they were not interested in chasing him for obvious reasons. He told me that on one Sunday morning he came around a corner at an intersection pretty much sideways, with the Cops sitting down the road a bit. Dave drove past the Cops...waiting for the lights....never happened. I don't think they wanted to be on the front page the following day. :D

My friend restored a 71 Road Runner. When replacing the carpet, he found a squashed paper coffee cup under the old carpet. It had the Chrysler Pentastar logo on it. We figured it was stuffed in the car on the assembly line....

When I tore my half done dash apart I found this in between two panels. Probably was squeaking or rattling. Pretty neat because we found out it’s for spark plugs for a 383 and there’s no date but it was before area codes had to be addd to the telephone number. So at some point I’m guessing the car was in Middlesboro, Kentucky.

there was an older thread of stuff like this but I couldn’t find it. Someone had even put up a google earth street view of Coleman Brothers business.. I keep looking an if I can locate it, I’ll post it up..

I bought my 67 R/T in 1977. After driving it for a year or so, I took out the console to replace the shifter. Found a nice cute little dope smoking bowl under it..

On the front front bottom of my 67 Belvedere convertible are 2 supports that hold the bottom of the front fenders it the proper place. One of them was missing and was replaced by a very "crude" fabrication using a scrap piece of aluminum extrusion . . .

Later on, while cutting out rust in the car, in the passenger side trunk extension was the "missing" support . . .

That's another reason why the trunk configuration in my Belvedere was modified - or customized/fabricated to it's new configuration . . .

I have the same problem as hammond472...

when i started doing the rear quarter on my runner i hit the lower quarter with a rubber hammer to see how bad the rot was and this hole piece fell off and was held on by valcro.
and my 68 imperial i found a crab shell in the inner fender area . ( yes my car had crabs )

Bought my car from a realtor and found a check for $11,000 in the glove box. Unfortunately, it wasn't made out to me. :(

I was cleaning out the trunk of the 73 charger a couple years ago. I found a pair of hair cutting scissors. (My wife says they’re called shears). She’s been doing hair going on 15 years and so I kept them and she put them on her station.

no photo of it

I found a little slinky lace light blue Panties
(size 4, French cut Honey said)
when I was installing my bucket seats in my RR
I had vacuumed & cleaned the car out a bunch of times
it was under there, the org. bench seat, all that time
don't know if it was from the org. owner or the 2nd owner
I'm the 3rd owner
