Hi all,

I was reading a few posts on how to adjust window glass and they helped quite a bit. I saw this post where Dad'sbee shows some pics which also helped: Window adjustment question

My question is - Is there a way to tilt the top of the vent window outward? When I close the passenger side door slowly, I can see the vent window and subsequent rest of the glass assembly get pushed outward as they close. I need to get the top of the vent window tipped out about 1/4 inch or so. In reading the manual, I see the "tilt, in & out", etc. and have adjusted the rear bottom nut so that the rear of the glass is just right but the front, I think, is about as far as it can go unless I'm doing it incorrectly.

Any advice?

Thanks,
Mikey

Yes. It adjusts primarily with the triangle piece near the bottom that bolts it to the door. Move the bottoms in and the top part will move outward

Hey PB, I'm not seeing that triangular piece you mentioned. MWBirdlover said the same thing but I'm not seeing it. Is it missing? I took a couple pics:

Below is looking toward the front. Sorry it sideways.

See the piece laying at the bottom of the door? That's supposed to be welded (or drilled and bolted) to the window track, and then an adjuster goes between that and the huge J-nut also at the bottom of the door.

Van's sells the parts:

I only know this because I had to buy them for my car.

Thanks, yall.

The car came to me this way. The bracket was hose-clamped onto the track and the pin was just lying there. I have it in my parts box, somewhere. So if I re-install this correctly, this should give me some "tip out" at the top of the vent wing, it would seem, yes? Looks like I'd be able to tap that little piece inward where the pin goes into and that would pivot the upper corner of the vent wing out.

While we're on the subject of window adjustment, I have another post going for the rear quarter window, if you could give me your thoughts on it. The driver side is good to go. The passenger side, however, I've tried all the adjustments that I know of (following the FSM and posts from the fine folks, here) but I still need about 1/4" of outward tip at the top front corner of the roll up quarter window. The rollers all look to be in good shape and they roll freely. Any ideas? One of the folks said they had the same problem and had to install the "panel" on the inside but I'm not sure what they were referring to. The rear of the quarter glass lines up to where it should be on the weatherstripping and If I pull inward on the middle of the regulator, I can almost get the front to line up correctly.

Thanks again,
Mikey
