'68 Charger.. going with 15x8 4.5 BS on the rear .. what about the front to fill the well. More offset ? or less BS. .... drum brake car.

Also thinking of 70 series for the rear anyone use them.

15x8 with 4.5 bs seems to be the sweet spot on a b-body. They will probably work on the front too. If you want a narrower wheel for the front, i would try for a 15x7 with 4" bs. American five spokes seem to be common at 3.75 bs, but i would swear that mine are 4". (Now i have to go back thru my records, which are a couple hundred miles away).
I use a 255-70x15 on an 8", 4"bs wheel on my 62. The wheelwell on a 62 is loooonng, and 29+" fills it nicely. I would have gone 275x70 but the bs on this wheel is wrong and the 255 was the biggest that would fit. Eight inches tread, 10 1/2 inch section on an eight inch wheel.
Ive got a 235-70x15 on a six inch rim, and a 235-75x15 on a seven for the front. I DONT think you can get a tire that tall on your charger.

Thinking 255x70x15 .. 4.5 bs for the rear.. front 60 or 70 series. like to get it to the outer edge . Maybe 235 with a 15x 7 or 8 with 3" BS ?? front.. Want to get it right the first time ..for a change.

I think 8's are too wide for the front. I like 6's. But it all depends what you're after ... the "street beast" or the "road warrior"

More like this ..I did the fats/skinnies back in the day and when I turned a corner I prayed.... 7" with 225's ? ...... 70's anyone

I'm using 275/60r 15 on the rear and 245/60r 15 on the front of my 68 Coronet R/T. 8" old school Keystones on all 4 corners, and not sure of the back spacing. I just ordered a pair of tires for the rear tonight.

255/70/15 rear. 225/70/15 front on 7'' rims 3 3/4'' back space.

The only problem I ran into was using a 15x8 with a 4 1/2'' backspace is the rim comes really close to the upper control arm near the ball joint. I had the tires balanced and the inner wheel weights hit the arm and peeled off as soon as I moved the car.
This was on a 64 Belvedere.
