fuel sending unit float location

not sure about where float is setting it is setting on a ridge inside of tank and sock is setting flat on bottom of tank,should float be setting on bottom as well,this inside view of a repop tank before installation thanks.there is just a little gas in tank to test the lock ring for leaks.

I don't like the hook that holds the float hitting the bottom of tank. I had a 68 Dart and always ran the tank at 1/2 tank or less, no extra money to fill it. The tip of the hook bouncing on the bottom of tank put a hole in tank. Oh and that was when I had a half tank of gas.
