In the middle of my 451 build to go in my '68 satellite. I have the original fuel tank and have been shopping for a new sending unit. I usually order my stuff from Mancini Racing.

In their paper flyer they list 2 different fuel sending unit options:
MRE23847 - 3/8" pick up stock replacement

OR

MREU114C - Stainless Steel 3/8" pick up
or
MREU126 - Stainless Steel 1/2" pick up.

I know the Stainless steel units should be more corrosion resistant, but is it necessary? Price difference is only $15. The caption for these says - "new warrantied sending unit kits include FuelProof Goodyear hose, correct clamps, steel locking ring, and steel ground strap."

I've also heard good things about Spectra and could order one from them.

For a 451 B motor with mild cam, would it be better to go with 1/2" fuel pick up or is 3/8" just fine? I only want to do this once...

rusty is correct,3/8 is plenty of line size.always go stainless if you can,it is well worth the $15 for the added corosion resistance.
