I know just how he feels. I changed the tank on my '72 Satellite Sebring Plus by myself and ran into all the same problems. I actually installed the fill tube after the tank was installed, but it was only by the grace of God. It would not go in even using all my brute strength. I tried one last time with everything I had (and then some) and finally got it started just moments before I was going to give up. It appears he replaced the 5/16" factory pickup with the 3/8" aftermerket pickup and plugged the 1/4" return line which is not used on his model. I believe the stock line is 5/16" (like mine was). It looks like he was able to use a 3/8" hose on the factory 5/16" line. However, he did not mention if the ground strap would fit on the larger 3/8" line. Does anyone know if it will work that way (connecting lines with different diameters using the same 5/16" ground strap)? Thank you.

It will take some effort to get those teeth around the 3/8" line but it will work. If your ground strap is not in the best of shape you might break it trying to install it. In addition to the ground strap I wrapped a bare portion of wire around the line on the sending unit & secured it with a hose clamp. Then the other end is attached to the underside of the trunk pan with an electrical connector to ensure you have a good ground on the sending unit.

For EFI, Tanks Inc has the TCR10T: 1971-73 Dodge Charger, Plymouth Road Runner Fuel Injection Gas Tank

I think if doing EFI, the tanks Inc tank setup ends up less expensive than using a stock type tank like the Holley with their in-tank fuel pump module because the Holley HydroMat inlet screen/pickup is really expensive.

To get the J-Bolt nuts on/off, I have a sunex tools #884505 extra-deep 9/16" socket. about $20, and is 6" deep.

LOL at the comment @19:59... We have all been there!! Hope he remembered the ground strap. I have my "Gas Tank" T-shirt from my '69, but luckily I was still able to get an original OE Mopar tank from Detroit back in '89. Went into the dealer and said I needed to order a tank for a '69 SuperBee and they laughed at me, until I produced the part number and they couldn't believe it was not NS1!! My issue was the trunk seal deterioated and allowd water to accumulate under the mat, eat thru the floor, tar mat, and eat the top of the tank out.
