Glove box key

The lock on my glove box broke I want to change it out I have another one how do I change the Tumblers to get my key to fit that other lock thanks for any help I can get. You can see by the pictures that on the back of the part that latches another part broke off which comes up through the cylinder

I do not have pictures but the chrome cover is crimped on at a spot on the sleeve. You can carefully pry edge up and remove chrome cover exposing the lock parts with springs. Not hard to do for the early ones.
