Goodmark or AMD floor pan?

i can get a a Goodmark floorpan for hundreds less than AMD. is it a decent piece to use? i know its a few hundred on a several thousand dollar repair in the end, but $20 is $20.

Generally speaking, if not universally, AMD uses thicker metal.

This is blatantly obvious when you look at there e-body inner cowl panel. It's so thick, every single one, including the one they show on the web site as the example is warped like a pringles chip and needs to be massaged. Admittedly, it's a pretty complex shape/stamping, and fairly small so it's sort of understandable.

I'm not saying that to complain (I got that out of my system a while back, lol), it's just as an example.

Compare the same panel against the Dynacorn version and it's night and day. The DC one is the "correct" shape, but is notably "lighter".

So yeah, @SGTPaul is spot on.

I got interior door panels from Goodmark / Dynacorn. Not only was the color, grain, not right but so was the fitment.

This is an AMD quarter panel and outer wheelhouse. Fit and appearance were comparable to the NOS on my current GTX. I don’t know how much the body shop had to work with it, but receipts that came with car indicated not a lot.

Curious what year you're looking at? 66-70 is around $500, plus $180 for shipping. I've combined orders with other folks to split the shipping cost since it's by pallet so that might be an option. Do you absolutely need the whole floor?

Life-long body guy here.

Cannot speak to floor pans- but I installed AMD quarters, trunk floor and extensions on my charger.

Aside from maybe a couple hours of tweaking.Those pieces fit as tight as an OEM quarter on a modern car in a collision shop.


On another note for consideration-
I’ve “heard” a lot of repro stamped pieces come out of only a couple places in Taiwan. And that the companies/prices you see, ex- goodmark, golden star, are the result of levels of quality control they go through determine the end seller they go to.

The floor is a structural piece, the thicker and sturdier the floor pan the better. I have installed the AMD floor pans,they fit great. I put frame connectors in and welding them to an AMD piece was easier with less chance of blowing through the floor with the welder. I did 1/2 inch welds without blowing through, try that with the Goodmark piece. For those who don't know Goodmark is AMDs lower line. The Mark in Goodmark is the owner of AMD.

I have all new exterior and interior metal on my Road Runner. All was AMD. The tail light panel, floors, and roof were really good. The quarters need work. I probably would not risk a critical part like the floor with someone else.

AMD is a perfect fit even if your only installing a portion of your floor, definitely worth the money
