Hey everyone, new member here.

I recently joined because I’m interested in learning more about late B-bodies, especially the 1979 Dodge Magnum, which I've been infatuated with since seeing one as a child and falling in love immediately. I’m still learning the platform, so I figured this would be the right place to read, ask questions, and hopefully avoid doing anything too stupid. I'm looking forward to beginning the process of searching for and, hopefully, buying a Magnum in the next year or so. I've got a specific dream version in my head, and I hope absorbing all the info I can here will help me in making this lifelong dream a reality.

Looking forward to digging through the forum and learning from everyone here.

My parents had a 79 magnum. With t-tops when I was in high school. I didn't pay much attention to it, at the time. Due to I was working on a 68 charger. But thinking back to when they were looking to get rid of it I should have bought it. But back then in the early 2000's it wasn't worth as much of the cost of shipping from Florida to Hawaii.

I'd imagine that shipping from Florida, even back then, would have been an expense! Yes...a '79 with the t-tops is the dream. I remember seeing it at a car show down the road from my childhood house, and even at my young age, I was like "What is that?!" I grew up in a family of Corvette enthusiasts (I have a '96 myself, father had a '69, uncle still has a beautiful '66), but the Magnum left a lasting impression on me.

Welcome from Alberta, Canada...I liked the proportions and style of the Magnum back then, moreso than the Cordobas and Charge-obas of that era. They were similar but I think the Magnums looked more stock-car-ish. I think the value on those might start going up, too.
