Well I have done it again as my wife would say. I answered an ad about a 71 Cuda for sale locally at an astronomical price of course. And of course it’s a total basket case. While the guy is talking it up as I start walking away he tells me that he’s got a project 70 Cuda that he is going to have to sell cuz he bought a 69 Roadrunner and will need the room. We drive about 15 minutes away and the whole time I’m thinking what kind of other basket case does he have. Sure enough he has a 70 340 4 speed car inside and says he’s owned it for 15 years and before that it sat under a sided car port since the 80’s. It’s almost totally stripped down, interior, glass, trim etc. I look at the floor and it’s original and absolutely stunning. Has 4 flat tires and lawnmowers packed 5 deep on 3 sides of the car so can’t really get a detailed look at hardly any of it. He decides to throw some numbers out and start to deal but he wants to sell as a pair. Try everything to get him to separate to no avail. Finally we make a deal and drag them home. First the broken down basket case and everyone says god what a piece of crap you got scammed for sure. Couple days later I drag the other one home and the car is absolutely as solid as you could get for a 54 year old car that has sat for 40+ years. Definitely a tale of one really good and one really bad!! I’m sure that some of you have been down this road before but sometimes we all get well rewarded for staying between the lines!

Nice! 70 340 4-speed Cuda's are my all time favorite car. Maybe I will have another before I am in the dirt.

I tell you its a sickness with these cars, congrats and it looks great.

Man, that '71 car is one rusty Cooter....lucky the '70 looks so good.

Lucky! I much prefer 70's anyway and people pant and pee themselves to stand in line to buy any type of 71.

Thanks all. When the guy told me it was a red on red car he set the hook. My first e body was a 70 gran coupe red on red car many years back when I was 18. The 71 looks just as bad underneath as on top but I don’t want to be the one who “kills “ it. Both cars are BS23H cars and it’s a shame the 71 didn’t get the treatment in its life as the 70 did.

Nice score on the 70. That one will be stunning when finished... My favorite 2 E-bodies would be a black w/ red interior Cuda and Challenger both 70 models.

Hey this is a B body site... Take that E body stuff over to FEBO.............................................................................................. Just Kidding!

You'd get bored waiting for a response over there....

Cool score, the 70 has always been my favorite, Clean & to the point...
71 is the Disco Cuda... All the gaudy costume jewelry tacked on....

Red on Red even better! The first Mopar I bought was a red on red 70 Barracuda 318 4-speed car. It was a blast!

My wife said when I brought it home. “You definitely have a problem “ lol. I have a guy looking at it but is low balling it and he’s a flipper. I wouldn’t even begin to know what it would be worth because it needs so much and I have been doing B-Bodies for at least the last 20 years. Out of the E-Bodies for a while. Just thankful that the 70 is good and I should’ve bought a lottery ticket that day.

There will be a fair amount of stuff that could be harvested off the rust bucket. Items to use and sell/trade. The remainder will be rebar in the future.

No it won't, just need a 71 Cuda foamer, they make the Charger guys look like wimps.

I agree! You will get someone to give you as much or more than you paid for it! Just tell them AMD makes everything for these cars! Tell them Worman built a whole car from their catalog,This car is an easy fix! Lol

I will have to make a decision to sell it or keep it as a parts car until I get to the 70. Maybe I will put it in the WIW forum to get an idea of WIW. Before it leaves a permanent rust spot on my driveway lol
