My 68 Roadrunner doors have small dimples from inside to the outside where the door handles were mounted. they look like they could be from the 1/4 x 20 bolts being tightened to tight and the metal being pulled outward. both doors look really similar, but not exactly the same. they could also be factory to fit the handle.
Does anyone know if this is factory or should they be dressed down flat which would be a large radius? the back of the handle where the bolt goes into is cast flat and looks to need a flat surface.
any info would be appreciated.
body is still in metalwork to repair would be easy.
thanks all

No, they are not supposed to be that way. The metal is not thick/strong enough to put up with all the stress from opening/yanking on the door handles for 45 years.

Here is what you need to stop this problem.
