Hello everyone thanks for the add to the group. My Name is Matt and I am the owner of "Daisy" my 69 Charger R/T. I have had the Car for about 7 years now, I purchased it at 19 as my first car. Had to save all my nickels and dimes for my entire youth to be able to buy it. I unknowingly bought the car from the dealer HLPAG now known as Truemusclecars, at the time I did not know forums like this existed, so I did not know the reputation of the shop. With that being said I saw the car in person before I purchased it with my father, we looked over the car inside and out from everything we could see the car was solid. I think I lucked out because it was a car he had not started to "Restore" if the story he told me was true (which who knows) he had just purchased the car to start restoration on, I told him I didn't want him to touch it.
I got the Car as a project for me and my Dad to work on (my father always wanted a project car but just never had the money to get one). We got to do quite a bit of work done on the car before my dad was tragically killed in a crash on his way home from work. I have since done a good amount of work on the suspension, breaks and engine both on my own and with two of my dads old friends who do classic car restorations. Any problems that have come up with the car I knew about before purchase so I think I honestly just lucked out after reading about some people who have been completely screwed by him. Regardless I'm now looking to have the car taken to a shop to get a real restoration completed. It has a 400 big block (obviously not original) 727 transmission (automatic) and an 8 3/4 rear end. My plan is to turn it into a street fighter, 512 stoker though 440 source, upgraded suspension (thinking HOTCHKIS) , disk break conversion all around(Baer), might upgrade to the Dana 60 and probably going to go with a TTI exhaust system. I also think I might add a six pack hood scoop I love how mean they look. I am still new to this so trying to learn as much as I can unfortunately I have reached about the peak of what I can do to my car and I also live on the other side of he country right now from where I store the car (in the military). Anyways thanks for stopping by to read my post look forward to learning from yall.

P.S. is it possible to Supercharge a 400 big block stroked to 512? looking at a roots style love the look and sound of the things and hoping if I go with the six pack hood and a small enough setup ill have the clearance to get it under the hood. feel free to tell me if I'm living in a dream

Hi Matt, welcome aboard...you've got a nice back story with that car. I'm so sorry to hear about your dad, I'm sure he'd be proud to see you carrying on the project like this.
:welcome:

(Oh, and while you could of course supercharge a 512, if you're going to supercharge anyway I wouldn't bother going that big since forced induction is like making the engine larger anyway. You could supercharge a 318 and get great power.

Do you know any companies that make a manifold for a 400 not a ton of aftermarket stuff for Mopar supercharging from what I have found.

Bienvenido desde Mexico, :drinks: nice charger, sad to read about your old man, any questions you have, any doubt you may encounter in your car, this guy's have an answer , pretty much the best mopar site on the Web, with the best mopar knowledge you can find.

welcome to FBBO

good luck on the 69 Charger "Daisy"

First Thanks for Serving!! I'm sure I speak for many of us here, We appreciate your service....

Second, Sorry to hear about your dad, it's never an easy thing...

Now on to the Charger....

If you want a Roots style supercharger....

That said a 400 pushed out to 512 will make tons of HP & Tq without boost...

If you want boost I'd probably build a smaller displacement cause there's a limit to how much a stock block can take....

Yeah I figured as much once I get to that stage ill start talking with the shop and figure out what direction to go (I've heard the 400 block is one of the strongest not sure if anyone has any actual proof of that) , it will probably come down to if we can fit something under a six pack hood I've never been a big fan of the massive blower cut outs at least not on Mopar. If not ill probably just run a normal 512 set up maybe with a six pack or something flashy. I always have to reign myself in, the aircraft I fly has 1700 HP per engine so sometimes its easy to get carried away haha
