I'm looking for information on what other model Mopar cars and trucks rear brake assemblies that will swap into a 73" SE. I've heard that all I need to do is pull the back plate to drum from a suitable donor vehicle and mount them to my existing housing. My SE is an M-coded 400-2bbl with an 8 3/4" chunk (not a SG) and standard brakes. I'm doubling the horsepower and needing additional braking in the back.

Any assistance will be appreciated.

Do you have the 10" drums now? If you can find the 11" backing plates, you can buy everything else from a parts store pretty reasonably.

Not sure exactly, but I think C bodies had 11" x 2", which are not as desirable as 11" x 2.5".
+1 on moparmarks with the 11" x 2.5".
Just as a FYI, I have a 74 SE and did some research. Last fall I switched over to green axle bearing since one rear seal was leaking. With the front disc supplying roughly 70% of braking, I was not gaining much going to 11". To me, it was not worth the extra cost and weight to switch to 11", as I already had all the 10" brake hardware. My other thought was if I really wanted to upgrade the rear braking, I would switch to disc, maybe later.

I have the rear backing plates from an old dodge van that look similar, and they are 11". I'm guessing that they will work, huh?

What exactly are we looking at here? Backplates and all?

I saw that my survivor 73 SE has all HD suspension and brakes, plus my #2 project 73 SE has the same (Both are U-code). I'm just wanting to upgrade both project #2 and #4 to the same suspension and braking. I'm not looking into doing any road racing or anything like that. Just upgrading my street cruisers.

I'll be looking into that as soon as I bet back in the States.
