Head liner penetration

So I've been lame and just driving my car without finishing the interior. How do I make penetrations in the headliner.

I can feel the holes I just don't want to poke a hole and have the liner rip. Am I just being a wuss and i should just poke hole where they go?

I found the holes and ran the screws right in through the headliner

in the past on other cars, i put the screws in place, installed the headliner so its already snug and tight, then feel/see the screws poking against the liners, then a tiny cut in the center of the screw head with a razor blade and push/stretch the material down over the head of the screw. then its exactly where you need and you dont miss any

I didn't have my sun visors in and you have to poke a big hole in the middle of the 3 holes for screws so I did like Beekeeper said and quit being a wuss and just poked the holes and it was very easy to install the visors.

I've always used an ice pick, but that's a good idea. Might even take a few pictures to not miss any.
